Letter from Pierce Parts & Service

We received this great letter today from our customer, Joe Pierce, president of Pierce Parts & Service in Macon, GA. Here is what Joe had to say:

"To Davisware:

I would like to commend you for this past year's experience that I have had with Davisware since they purchased our previous software in the spring of 2010. I was scared to death of the fate that the old software had taken upon my company. After you have been in an uphill battle working with a new software company where you knew the investors and support personnel, you hated to accept the defeat. Adding to the stress, we were also the beta test company for the software. It was very trying to maintain the daily operations during the whole process. If I had to summarize the complete situation, we were losing the battle by not getting our invoices out correctly and losing control of our inventory. Our accounts payables and receivables were totally out of balance.

Jennifer, when you called and notified me that Davisware/GlobalEdge had bought out my old software company and that you needed to discuss with me the conversion process, I could not help but to get an uneasy feeling. The fact that you reached out and called me personally to let me know that Davisware was more than capable of handling the conversion process from GlobalEdge, took a tremendous burden off my shoulders. Not only did you walk me through this process, you immediately set up a two-day pre-training to ensure that we would be ready to go by the first of January 2011. In addition, you introduced me to your support staff and made sure I knew what modules they would be training us.

The pre-training class went great. We had a lot of information to absorb. The instructors Nancy, Tom, and Dan went out of their way to get us in the system so we could have "hands on" experience with the software. They even had internet access up and running. After the pre-training, we were armed with all the information that we needed to get started and the assurance that they would be available to us every step of the way.

Nancy and Tom's teaching strategy allowed us to grow understanding and confidence with the software enabling us to set up each module independently. Their guidance was readily available in setting up up each module, however, their instruction was to allow us to set up each module to best suit the needs of our company, enhancing the ability to learn how each module worked in tandem with each other. Kudos to your staff, I really appreciated this approach. I feel that we know the software much better because of this teaching method.

Once started, we have never had any regrets in our decision to switch over to Davisware. The support staff has been wonderful to work with. The response times to questions have been quick and thoroughly explained. The software updates show that they are staying current with changes required by our industry.

We have now had a year to operate in the system with the modules that we set up for our company. They are performing the way that they are designed. In 2012, we are planning to turn on additional modules that are available now which are line ordering, scanning, and remote field service.

I honestly do not know how I would be operating had Davisware not bought out the old software and walked us through the conversion process from GlobalEdge. My company is full of gratitude to you and your support staff for allowing me to take back control of my company with the accountability to operate a successful business.

Kindest Regards,

Joe Pierce/President/CEO

The Right Software Makes All the Difference.

Today we received a wonderful letter from one of our customers. Patrick Duffy, from Duffy's Food Equipment Service & Parts, had this to say about Davisware:

"In the spring of 2010, our company, Duffy's Equipment Services, made the long anticipated jump from our green screen work station to a Windows based software. We chose a start up company that was created by people we knew and trusted within our industry. These were good, smart people who had the best of intentions. We would learn the hard way that it takes a lot more than good intentions to create good software.

Our system was dying on the vine and once we made the jump to the new software there was no going back. After 6 months of nonstop errors and lock ups we had totally lost control of the parts inventory in our 7 branches. We would later come to realize it had swelled to double the size it should have been. We were financially, logistically, and emotionally strained to the limit when we got the news that the start up company had been sold to Davisware and they determined the software was fatally flawed. They intended to shut it down as soon as possible. My head was spinning when I spoke to Jennifer Davis the first time about our predicament. I have known Jennifer casually from seeing her at conferences but hadn't done any business with them until that moment. I was apprehensive about purchasing another software package and converting all my data for the second time that year. We did not have the luxury of the usual time frame for a smooth transition to Davisware. We needed a crash course and a fast track conversion to Davisware, the future of our business hinged on it happening quickly and correctly. On top of all that we didn't have a lot of money left over after doubling our inventory and spending all the overtime working in the system we were on.

Jennifer was great, she put my mind at ease by letting me know they would do everything they could to help us through the troubled waters we were in. We made plans for training and data conversion to begin almost immediately. The staff at Davisware set out in a shotgun approach to coordinate the many phases of the project simultaneously so we could make the jump to Davisware ASAP. They helped us secure financing of the new software. They could not have been more understanding or accommodating during the transition. By November 2010, we were up and running with Davisware. It was a record start to finish conversion for them.

Since then, we haven't looked back. We quickly learned that top quality software backed up by a team of well run professionals could give our company tremendous advantages. Within 6 months we had a handle on our inventory again and today our latest physical count was off by less than 1%! We are better able to monitor every facet of our business and moral is the highest it has been in a long time. We are now working to implement our website with their new E2 product so our customers can see our inventory live and place their orders on-line. Next will be service billing from the field with their Remote Field Service Software. After that, who knows? Davisware is growing in its functionality monthly and we intend to take advantage of as much of it as we can.

I owe a debt of gratitude to the professionals at Davisware for helping us out when we needed it most and to Jennifer for truly caring about the future of our company. That combination is a rare find in the business world anymore.
