Today we received a wonderful letter from one of our customers. Patrick Duffy, from Duffy's Food Equipment Service & Parts, had this to say about Davisware:
"In the spring of 2010, our company, Duffy's Equipment Services, made the long anticipated jump from our green screen work station to a Windows based software. We chose a start up company that was created by people we knew and trusted within our industry. These were good, smart people who had the best of intentions. We would learn the hard way that it takes a lot more than good intentions to create good software.
Our system was dying on the vine and once we made the jump to the new software there was no going back. After 6 months of nonstop errors and lock ups we had totally lost control of the parts inventory in our 7 branches. We would later come to realize it had swelled to double the size it should have been. We were financially, logistically, and emotionally strained to the limit when we got the news that the start up company had been sold to Davisware and they determined the software was fatally flawed. They intended to shut it down as soon as possible. My head was spinning when I spoke to Jennifer Davis the first time about our predicament. I have known Jennifer casually from seeing her at conferences but hadn't done any business with them until that moment. I was apprehensive about purchasing another software package and converting all my data for the second time that year. We did not have the luxury of the usual time frame for a smooth transition to Davisware. We needed a crash course and a fast track conversion to Davisware, the future of our business hinged on it happening quickly and correctly. On top of all that we didn't have a lot of money left over after doubling our inventory and spending all the overtime working in the system we were on.
Jennifer was great, she put my mind at ease by letting me know they would do everything they could to help us through the troubled waters we were in. We made plans for training and data conversion to begin almost immediately. The staff at Davisware set out in a shotgun approach to coordinate the many phases of the project simultaneously so we could make the jump to Davisware ASAP. They helped us secure financing of the new software. They could not have been more understanding or accommodating during the transition. By November 2010, we were up and running with Davisware. It was a record start to finish conversion for them.
Since then, we haven't looked back. We quickly learned that top quality software backed up by a team of well run professionals could give our company tremendous advantages. Within 6 months we had a handle on our inventory again and today our latest physical count was off by less than 1%! We are better able to monitor every facet of our business and moral is the highest it has been in a long time. We are now working to implement our website with their new E2 product so our customers can see our inventory live and place their orders on-line. Next will be service billing from the field with their Remote Field Service Software. After that, who knows? Davisware is growing in its functionality monthly and we intend to take advantage of as much of it as we can.
I owe a debt of gratitude to the professionals at Davisware for helping us out when we needed it most and to Jennifer for truly caring about the future of our company. That combination is a rare find in the business world anymore.
Patrick Duffy"
