About Davis Business Solutions, Inc.

DBS founders and senior executives, Jennifer and Dan Davis, are regular fixtures in local education commissions, sports organizations and other community groups. They believe a company should contribute to its community and they show it. They have contributed DBS human resources and technology in the form of software created and donated specifically to enable their children’s school to run its charity auctions. For the school as well as for Tri-Cities Little League on which both have been board members, they have housed auction materials, shared company printing equipment and human talent and donated materials for printing and binding. They coach six or more of their children’s sports teams. Dan has coached baseball, basketball and football teams. Jennifer has coached cross-country and volley ball.

Jennifer talks proudly about support DBS provides to the Elgin Sharks Track Club, an under-funded, over-extended club run by retired teacher, Bob Pleticha. She describes Bob’s tireless efforts to provide a challenging and rewarding competitive opportunity to local children. That involves pounding pavements and wearing out phone lines to get used uniforms and equipment, even rebuilding old trophies to make sure the children of all socioeconomic levels have a positive learning experience. Jennifer and DBS have created and printed brochures for the group, set up their budget on spreadsheets and provided as much other support to the group as possible. She works tirelessly to help the Sharks gain the publicity they deserve, writing press releases, contacting news organizations and utilizing business contacts . The club struggles to make a difference in the lives of children. Jennifer and DBS work to ensure it struggles a bit less so it can make a bit more of a difference.

Believing healthy, family-minded activity is good for families and good for the community, in their community service, the Davis’ have worked with the organizations to ensure their family nature. On the Little League board, they worked with the local park district to encourage it to provide family-minded activities for the siblings at the games. Through their efforts, sand boxes were installed at the local fields.

Jennifer is a regular participant in local marathon, tri-athlete and competitive stair-climbing events. During her cross-country practices, runners are rewarded with a “Bring your parents to practice” award. She also does running workouts with her four (of six) children who participate in the Elgin Sharks. According to Jennifer, “If the parents of the other runners see my active example, I may be able to inspire them to participate and support their own children. By example, they encourage DBS employees to become involved in their communities and support them when they do.

The Davis’ and DBS are there for their community, and the community knows it. As Rob Gorman, East Dundee city council member and former member of the Tri-Cities Little League board notes, “The Davis’ are a unique combination of energy and talent. They bring these gifts together in the contributions they make to the community and the organizations they are involved in. These organizations and communities are very fortunate to have such ingenious, community-minded people involved with them.”
